Romanian building materials co AdePlast sales revenue up 19% in 2014

BUCHAREST (Romania), December 22 (SeeNews) – Romanian building materials producer AdePlast said its turnover rose by about 19% to an estimated 299 million lei ($82 million/66.9 million euro) in 2014, despite unfavourable market environment.

AdePlast's exports increased to 3.1 million euro from 2.0 million euro a year earlier, the company said in a statement on Monday.

AdePlast exports its output mainly to Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Poland, Moldova, Austria, Lebanon, The Netherlands and Serbia. It also plans to enter the Ukrainian market.

Sales of dry mortar remained almost flat on the year, paints sales grew 14% while polystyrene sales increased by almost 16%, it added.

AdePlast plans to lease 20 new trucks in 2015, and has earmarked 2.0 million euro for this purpose.

This year the company wrapped up a 330,000 euro investment in the implementation of a new IT and automation strategy. It also invested 775,000 euro in upgrades.

AdePlast, set up in 1996, owns nine factories for dry mortar, polystyrene and paints located in the cities of Oradea, Ploiesti and Roman.
