Romanian banks' outstanding loans up 5% y/y in Oct

November 24 (SeeNews) - Romanian banks’ outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 5% year-on-year in October, to 381.9 billion lei ($83.8 billion/76.8 billion euro), following a 4.5% annual rise in September, the central bank said on Friday.

Private lending in lei rose 2.2% on the year to 260.9 billion lei in October, after growing 0.7% in September, the central bank said in a statement.

Private lending in foreign currency rose 11.8% on the year to 120.9 billion lei in October, as compared to a 13.6% rise in September.
