December 30 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition council said on Tuesday it has approved the acquisition of local company International Business Trading by Cyprus-based Tatika Investments Ltd.

Romanian antitrust body clears International Business Trading deal

Tatika Investments, active in consultancy, constructions and real estate, controls four Romanian companies directly and another one indirectly, the council said in a statement.

One of its Romanian units, Parc Hotels, operates the Ramada Parc and Ramada Plaza hotels in the capital Bucharest, while International Business Trading controls local company Grand Plaza Hotels, which operates the Howard Johnson Grand Plaza hotel in Bucharest.

The transaction, however, does not hinder competition on the local hotel services market, the council said.
