December 30 (SeeNews) - Romania intends to sell 5.35 billion lei ($1.15 million/1.08 billion euro) worth of government securities in January, including 645 million lei in non-competitive offers, the finance ministry said.
Nine auctions of government securities with residual maturity ranging from 2.8 to 13.3 years and one auction of one-year Treasury bills are planned, the finance ministry said in its January debt issuance plan published in the Official Gazette on Thursday.
The ministry has sold government securities worth around 7 billion lei in December, above the planned amount of 5 billion lei, data by Romania's central bank shows.
During 2022, Romania has sold just roughly 64.8 billion lei and 1 billion euro ($1.05 billion) worth of government bonds and bills. It has also has tapped foreign markets for 3.85 billion euro worth of Eurobonds, as well as $3.85 billion worth of dollar-denominated bonds.
Romania's finance ministry said on Thursday it has sold 12 billion lei in fixed-rate government securities to 283,000 individual investors during 2022.
