October 20 (SeeNews) - Romania and Slovenia posted the sharpest annual increases, by 12.4% and 4.8%, respectively, in construction production among EU member states for which data is available in August, Eurostat said.
Slovenia reported also EU's second-highest monthly construction output rise in August - by 2.4%, while Romania's construction output advanced 0.9% month-on-month, Eurostat said in a statement on Monday.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe (SEE), Bulgaria's construction output marked an annual decrease of 4.9% and was 1.0% lower month-on-month.
Data for Greece and Croatia was not available for the month of August.
On average, construction output in the EU-27 decreased by 1.5% on the year and rose by 2.4% month-on-month.
