October 9 (SeeNews) - Romania's September unemployment rate rose to 5.01% from 5.00% a month earlier, the government's employment agency, ANOFM, said on Tuesday.

Romania Sept jobless rate edges up to 5.01% - table

In September, the southern county of Teleorman and the southwestern county of Dolj registered the highest unemployment rates in the country, of 9.22% and 8.95%, respectively, ANOFM said in a statement.

Romania's workforce is estimated at 8.83 million out of a population of more than 19 million.
