BUCHAREST (Romania), December 28 (SeeNews) – Romania on Monday sold 785.5 million lei ($64 million/44.3 million euro) in six-month Treasury bills out of an offer totalling 500 million lei as yields remained flat, the country's central bank, BNR, said.
The average yield was 10.0%, the BNR, which sells government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, said in a statement.
Bids were placed for 1.255 billion lei worth of T-bills in Monday's auction. The average accepted price was equal to 95.1878% of par.
The Finance Ministry has said it planned to issue 4.8 billion lei worth of government securities in December.
Romania has sold 56.03 billion lei in government debt paper so far this year. It sold government securities worth nearly 12 billion lei last year, up from 8.7 billion lei in 2007.
On Monday, the Finance Ministry said it plans to issue 10 billion lei to 12 billion lei worth of government securities in in the first quarter next year to re-finance public debt and finance budget deficit.
