March 11 (SeeNews) - Romania's finance ministry sold on Monday two issues of government securities worth a total of 1.313 billion lei ($289.1 million/264.3 million euro), central bank data showed.
The finance ministry sold 995.4 million lei worth of Treasury notes maturing on January 28, 2026 at Monday's auction, almost its 500 million lei target, the central bank said in a data release.
The average accepted yield was 6.05%, while demand for the government securities which carry an annual coupon of 6.3% rose to 1.015 billion lei from 888.5 billion lei at the previous auction of the same issue held last month.
The finance ministry also sold on Monday 317.2 million lei worth of government bonds maturing on February 24, 2038, above target.
The average accepted yield increased to 6.60% from 6.55% achieved at the previous auction of bonds of the same issue held last month. Demand for the Treasury bonds that have an annual coupon of 7.9% dropped to 393.2 million lei from 729 million lei at the previous auction.
Both issues will be reopened on Wednesday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional total 120 million lei through non-competitive tenders.
