September 7 (SeeNews) - Romania on Monday reported nine more cases of the A/H1N1 flu, bringing to 316 the total number of patients infected with the virus in the country.
All nine patients suffer mild flu symptoms, the Health Ministry said in a statement on its website.
Four patients have tested positive for the virus after they returned from neighbouring Bulgaria, the ministry said.
The A/H1N1 virus, popularly known as swine flu, is easily transmitted through coughing or sneezing. The infection, which can be deadly to humans, cannot be contracted through consumption of thermally processed pork meat. Its symptoms are similar to the symptoms of the common flu.
Romania has so far reported no deaths related to the A/H1N1 virus.
