The regulator plans to update power distribution and transport prices no sooner than July 1, 2013, according to the proposal published by ANRE on its website on Wednesday.
The electricity transport tariffs impact directly the revenues of Romania's power grid operator Transelectrica, which is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
"We believe that there are high chances that the order would be approved in the proposed format. So, as we were expecting a rise of the transport tariff of some 7% into 2013, we see the news as negative for [Transelectrica]," Raiffeisen Capital & Investment Research said in a note to investors on Thursday.
Transelectrica's transport tariff is currently set at 18.77 lei ($5.41/4.14 euro) per megawatt hour.
Blue-chip Transelectrica [BSE:TEL] shares were trading 1.64% up at 11.8 lei by 1045 GMT on Thursday.
