February 17 (SeeNews) - Romania plans to invest 200 million euro ($214.2 million) in the acquisition of more than 3,200 electric school minibuses for children in rural and remote areas, the education ministry.

The cost of the project will be covered by funds from the country's national Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the education ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

"The most recent centralised purchase of school minibuses was done in 2012. They have reached the end of their operational life," the ministry said in project documents.
