Bernovschi has replaced Anatolie Boldisor, AVAS said in a statement.
Earlier this week AVAS re-launched the sale of its 80.9778% stake in Avioane Craiova, setting November 24 as the deadline for the filing of final bids.
In September AVAS rejected an offer for Avioane Craiova from Czech company AERO Vodochody, saying that the company had come up with demands "outside the existing legal framework". The Czech company denied the claims.
AERO Vodochody's offer was worth a total of 16.3 million euro ($21.4 million), of which almost 8.9 million euro for a five-year investment plan. This was the government's third attempt to sell Avioane Craiova.
Avioane Craiova's stock gained 12% to close at 8.4 lei ($3.0/2.3 euro) on the Romanian over-the-counter market RASDAQ on Wednesday.
