"Following a review of the transaction, the Competition Council has found that it does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition in the market, in particular by establishing or strengthening of a dominant position," the anti-trust body said in a statement on Monday.

Eurofoam was founded in 1992 as a 50/50 joint venture by Greiner AG and Recticel S.A. In June 2020, Greiner took over the 50% interest held by Recticel, and Eurofoam is now wholly owned by Greiner.

Eurofoam Romania was established in 1997 and currently employs 300 in six Romanian cities, according to information posted on the company's website.

Greiner Group is active in the production and processing of flexible and composite polyurethane foams, manufacture of plastic products and  biotechnology. The group is present in Romania through its division Greiner Packaging International.
