Romania approves 172 mln euro Bucharest stadium project

March 22 (SeeNews) - The Romanian government said it has approved the construction of a multi-functional arena for Dinamo Bucharest Sports Club, worth an estimated 854.5 million lei ($185.9 million/171.8 million euro).

The project includes the construction of a stadium, along with complementary spaces for various sports activities, the government said in a press release on Thursday.

The ministry of development, public works and administration will provide 827.9 million lei for the project through the National Programme for Public or Social Interest Construction.

The stadium arena will span 66,716 sq m and is designed to accommodate 25,059 seats, meeting UEFA accreditation standards.

The complementary spaces will accommodate facilities such as boxing rings, weightlifting areas, judo and wrestling halls, gymnastics halls, fitness centres, and fencing halls.

The project execution period will be of 25 months from the moment construction begins.
