Romania 8-mo new car sales fall 22% - table

September 14 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Romania fell 22% to 46,823 vehicles in the first eight months of 2012, the Romanian Car Producers and Importers Association, APIA, said on Friday.

Sales of commercial vehicles edged down 0.9% year-on-year to 9,505 in the January-August period, APIA said in a statement.

NOTE: Dacia is majority-owned by France's Renault but its sales are recorded separately from those of the parent company, which reports only the sales of Renault cars imported to Romania.

Sales of new passenger cars in Romania fell 11% to 94,624 in 2011, with Dacia having the largest market share of 29.9%.
