Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo 9-mo Net Profit Up 39% to 12.6 Mln Euro

Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo, the second largest bank in terms of loans and deposits in the newly independent country, reported its net profit rose by 39.2% year-on-year to 12.6 million euro ($15.8 million) in the first nine months of 2008.

The bank’s 2006 net profit was 10.79 million euro.

The bank became part of Austrian group Raiffeisen International in 2002 after the group acquired local American Bank of Kosovo, set up by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) a year earlier.
