In like-for-like terms, the group’s sales in Romania dropped by 8.1%, Praktiker said in its nine-month interim report.
In the third quarter alone, the retailer's sales in Romania amounted to 45 million euro, decreasing by 5.2% annually and by 5.0% in like-for-like terms.
Using like-for-like sales is a method of valuation that attempts to exclude any effects of expansion, acquisition, or other events that artificially enlarge the company's sales.
Prakitker had 27 stores in Romania at the end of September.
The Praktiker Group generated total net sales of 617.8 million euro in January-September, 10.2% down on the year. The group narrowed its net loss to 132.7 million euro from 348.4 million euro a year ago.
