Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, has a total of 23 members in the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo. Trading in the Albanian zone began on April 2023.

Its first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31, for the electricity delivered on February 1.
