October 17 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Petrokemija [ZSE:PTKM] said on Tuesday that all of its production facilities were shut down late on Monday due to an interruption of electricity supply.

The interruption was caused by the dropout of the 110/10 kV transformer at the electricity distribution plant and repairs are under way, Petrokemija said in a Zagreb bourse filing.

Part of the production facilities have already commenced operations, with the rest expected today.

"The temporary stoppage of the mineral fertiliser production plants will not affect negatively the end-users in agriculture as Petrokemija has sufficient reserves of mineral fertiliser to supply the domestic and regional markets with all types of fertilisers until the production is resumed," the company said.

The Croatian government controls some 80% of Petrokemija.
