Postal Operator PTT Srbije Reports H1 Profit of 540 Mln Dinars (5.8 Euro Euro) - Media

BELGRADE (SeeNews), September 14 (SeeNews) – Serbian state-owned postal service operator PTT Srbije said it generated a profit of 540 million dinars ($8.4 million/5.8 million euro) through June, local broadcaster b92 reported on Monday.

No comparative figures were immediately available. It was not clear if the reported figure referred to net or pre-tax profit for the review period.

The company racked up 9.7 billion dinars in first-half total revenue, while its expenditures amounted to 9.16 billion dinars, b92 (www.b92.net) reported.

PTT Srbije’s operating revenue fell 6.0% on the year to 8.7 billion dinars during the first half of this year, missing the target by 1.0%, b92 said.

The company’s operating expenses during the first six months of 2009 climbed 5.0% on the year to 8.7 billion dinars, b92 said.

PTT recorded a profit of 2.6 billion dinars in 2008.

PTT’s capital investment totalled about 1.56 billion dinars in 2008, compared to its 2007 investments which totalled some four billion dinars spent towards service upgrades.
