Poland's Pepco to enter Bulgaria in March, to open 11 stores in first 6 months

October 1 (SeeNews) - Polish clothing and household goods retailer Pepco plans to open its first store in Sofia in March 2019 and increase the number of its stores in Bulgaria to 11 in the first six months since launching operations, it said on Monday.

Pepco intends to open over 60 stores in Bulgaria by the end of 2021, most of which will be located in cities with population of over 10,000, the company said in a press release.

The company expects that it will employ over 500 people by the end of 2021.

Pepco is currently working on securing long-term leases of locations offering around 500 sq. m. of commercial area each.

Pepco operates over 1,400 stores across Europe, employing over 13,000 people. In Southeast Europe, Pepco operates in Romania since 2015, as well as in Croatia and Slovenia since last year.
