Podravka, HPB weigh on Croatian share indices

February 28 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange declined on Wednesday on loses in Podravka [ZSE:PODR] and Hrvatska Postanska Banka [ZSE:HPB], bourse data showed.

The 20-share benchmark CROBEX ended 0.77% lower at 2,768.98 points.

The narrower equity index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, fell 0.54% to 1,656.35 points.

Food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka was the most traded company with a turnover of 341,200 euro ($370,000) as its shares fell 1.23% to 160 euro. The company announced on Wednesday that its consolidated normalised net profit after minority interests rose to 47.2 million euro last year from 41.3 million euro in 2022.

Shares of Hrvatska Postanska Banka dropped 2.50% to 234 euro in a turnover of 260,000 euro. It reported a consolidated net profit after minority interests of 83.6 million euro for last year, down from 102.8 million in 2022.

The regular turnover fell to 1.75 million euro from 2.2 million euro on Tuesday. However, the overall turnover was boosted by a 376,800 block deal with shares of hotel owner Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] and a 283,500 euro block deal with ordinary shares of diversified holding Adris [ZSE:ADRS].
