Pepco to open first stores in Bosnia in 2023 - report

December 15 (SeeNews) - European discount variety retailer Pepco Group plans to open its first stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina in fall 2023, local media reported on Thursday.

Pepco will open its first stores in Sarajevo and Banja Luka before expanding to other cities in the country, news provider Ekapija reported.

The company is currently looking to lease space of at least 450 sq m in retail and shopping centers in Bosnian cities with over 15,000 inhabitants, according to the media report.

Pepco Group, which is registered in the Netherlands and headquartered in London, is part of South African conglomerate Steinhoff International. In Europe, the group owns the brands PEPCO and Dealz as well as the Poundland brand in the UK.

In Southeast Europe, Pepco operates in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania and Greece.
