OTP Banka Srbija 9-mo after-tax profit rises 56% y/y

November 10 (SeeNews) - Hungarian banking group OTP said that its Serbian unit recorded an adjusted after-tax profit of 50.5 billion Hungarian forints ($142.8 million/133.8 million euro) in the first nine months of 2023, up from 32.5 billion Hungarian forints in the prior-year period.

The net interest income of OTP Banka Srbija grew to 76.6 billion forints in the first nine months of 2023 from 53.3 billion forints in the like period of last year, while its net fee and commission income went up 3% to 13.2 billion forints, OTP said in an interim financial report on Thursday.

OTP Banka Srbija’s gross gross loans to customers fell by 9% year-on-year, to 1.981 trillion forints. Deposits from customers rose 13% on the year to 1.710 trillion forints.

Total assets fell to 2.810 trillion forints at the end of September 2023, from 2.824 trillion forints at the end of September 2022.

In Southeast Europe, OTP is also present in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Montenegro.
