Number of active cos in Romania up 4.6% y/y at end-Aug

The capital Bucharest had the largest number of active companies, 186,713, up from 178,005 at the end of August 2011, the registry said in a statement.

Nearly 91,100 companies were registered in the first eight months of 2012, down 6.1% on the year.
