November 17 (SeeNews) - Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch direct flights connecting Bulgaria's Sofia with Finland's capital Helsinki as part of its summer schedule for next year, Sofia Airport concessionaire SOF Connect said on Friday.
Norwegian will fly to and from Helsinki twice a week, SOF Connect said in a press release, adding that the move caters to the increased local demand for travel to the Nordic countries.
Norwegian began operations on the Bulgarian market in June 2023 with the launch of a direct summer service between Oslo and Sofia. The flights on that route will continue throughout the entire 2024 summer season, Sofia Airport said.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has stipulated that next year's summer season for the northern hemisphere will run between March 31 and October 27.
