In July, the government's Privatisation Agency launched a tender for the sale of 51% of JAT Airways, fully–owned by the state, at a minimum price of 51 million euro ($73.8 million), with a possibility to increase the stake on offer.
Despite media speculation that Russian Aeroflot, German Air Berlin, Air Iceland and Air India were interested in the flag carrier, no company bought the tender documents, said B92, quoting sources from JAT’s pilot trade union.
Neither the privatisation agency nor the Economy Ministry have confirmed the report, B92 said.
Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic said earlier that if the privatisation tender fails the cabinet will not put the flag carrier up for sale at a lower price, but will finance its restructuring from the state budget, the TV channel reported.
