NIS tops turnover list on Belgrade bourse, share indices end down

December 9 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated the highest turnover among the blue chips on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday, as stock indices closed down, bourse data showed.

A total of 831 NIS shares changed hands in a turnover of 552,510 dinars. NIS closed down 0.75% to 667 dinars.

The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, ended the session down 0.50% at 811.54 points. The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, closed down 0.34% at 1,766.33.

The total turnover on the bourse amounted to 1.3 million dinars ($11,700/11,100 euro) on Friday, down from 199.7 million dinars on Thursday, as 63 transactions were carried out.

Trading on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) of the stock exchange generated a turnover of 317,400 dinars.

In the period between December 5 and December 9, BELEX15 went down 0.30%, while BELEXline fell 0.17%.

The total value of trading on the Belgrade stock market this week was 484.9 million dinars, versus 771.4 million dinars last week.

Treasury bonds trading turnover totalled 439.0 million dinars this week, down from 571.5 million dinars last week.
