Net Jan-Oct FDI inflow into Montenegro rises

December 19 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro rose to 380.8 million euro ($449.7 million) in the first ten months of 2017, from 312.7 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said citing preliminary figures.

Total FDI inflow dropped to 500 million euro in the first ten months of 2017 from 593.9 million euro in January-October 2016, while FDI outflow declined to 119.2 million euro from 281.2 million euro, the central bank said.

The inflow of investments in companies and banks fell to 143.7 million euro in the period under review, from 150.4 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew 17.3% on the year to 120.7 million euro.

FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending rose to 201.6 million euro in January-October, from 150.9 million euro in the like period of 2016.

The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro decreased to 371.6 million euro in 2016, from 619.3 million euro in the previous year.
