Net investment in Romania rises 16.6% in 2023

Net investment in new construction projects rose 16.8% last year, while net investment in machinery and equipment, including vehicles, increased by 20.6%, the statistical office, INS, said in a statement.

Investments in other sectors grew by 4% combined.

In the fourth quarter alone, net investment was up by an annual 22.1% to 71.8 billion lei. Net investment in new construction works saw a 23.8% annual rise in October-December, while investment in machinery and equipment, including vehicles, increased by 37.1%. However, combined investments in other sectors decreased by an annual 16.4%.
