The factory spans 18,000 sq. m. and employs 220 people, the government said in a press release.

The construction of the new factory took two years and the company wants to continue investing in Serbia, said Nestle director general for Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia, Marjana Davidovic.

Nestle opened its first factory in Serbia in 2012 following the acquisition of Serbian food and beverage producer Centroproizvod.

Zagreb-based Nestle Adriatic, founded in 2003, is in charge of Nestle's operations in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo.
