September 22 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's private hospital operator Zan Mitrev said it has ended its sale talks with Balkan Alliance Healthcare, an investment company based in the Netherlands, without reaching an agreement.
The hospital operator is currently not involved in other negotiations for a potential sale, it said in a press release on Thursday.

In June, North Macedonia's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said that Balkan Alliance Healthcare has asked for approval to acquire a majority stake in Zan Mitrev.
Earlier this year, North Macedonia's prosecution charged the hospital and its director and owner, Zan Mitrev, with committing fraud against Covid-19 patients who were tricked into undergoing an experimental and expensive treatment. The case was revealed in a documentary by local non-profit media organisation Investigative Reporting Lab in July 2022.
The Zan Mitrev hospital has 128 beds, including 74 intensive care beds, and five operating rooms. The company has one subsidiary based in the eastern city of Strumica.
