N. Macedonia's Silk Road Bank net profit up 20% y/y in 2023

April 2 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based Silk Road Bank said that its net profit increased 20.3% year-on-year to 156.3 million denars ($2.7 million/2.5 million euro) in 2023.

Net interest income grew to 317.9 million denars last year from 255.4 million denars in 2022, the bank said in an annual financial statement filed with the bourse in Skopje on Monday.

Net fee and commission income increased to 92.1 million denars in 2023 from 89.6 million denars the year before.

Silk Road Bank was established in 1993 under the name Credit Bank. The lender was acquired by Greece's Alpha Bank in 2000, and renamed to Alpha Bank Skopje. In 2016, Swiss investor Silk Road Capital acquired the lender from Alpha Bank, and renamed it to Silk Road Bank.
