N. Macedonia's real net wage up 12.9% y/y in Jan

March 21 (SeeNews) - The real net wage in North Macedonia rose by 12.9% year-on-year in January, following a 12.3% yearly increase in December 2023, the national statistical office said on Thursday.

In nominal terms, the average net wage added 16.5% on the year in January, reaching 39,542 denars ($699/643 euro), Makstat said in a statement.

The strongest annual wage growth in nominal terms, by 27.8%, was recorded in the public administration and defence and compulsory social security sectors, followed by the water supply, sewage, waste management and treatment activities with a 19.2% increase.

On a monthly comparison basis, the real net wage in North Macedonia decreased 1.1% in January.
