N. Macedonia's Makpetrol reports 40% fall in 2023 net profit

February 28 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based fuel retailer Makpetrol [MSE:MPT] recorded a 40% year-on-year decline in net profit for 2023, totaling 770.7 million denars ($13.5 million/12.5 million euro), it said on Wednesday.

Total operating revenues decreased 19% on the year to 30.3 billion denars in 2023, while total operating costs fell 18% to 29.5 billion denars, Makpetrol said in a bourse filing.

Domestic sales went down 17% year-on-year to 29.3 billion denars, whereas sales abroad slumped 63% to 768.5 million denars in 2023.

Makpetrol has a network of over a hundred filling stations across North Macedonia. The company also has units in neighbouring Serbia and Greece.

Makpetrol's shares traded at an average price of 66,000 denars on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Tuesday, the latest available bourse data showed.
