N. Macedonia's DS Smith Skopje turns to 9-mo net profit, grows revenue

November 1 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's DS Smith Skopje, a unit of British packaging manufacturer DS Smith, said that it turned to a net profit of 23.3 million denars ($423,000/379,000 euro) in the first nine months of 2019 from a net loss of 19.5 million denars in the same period of 2018.

DS Smith Skopje's operating revenue rose by an annual 17% to 625 million denars in the January-September period of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement earlier this week.

Domestic sales increased 9% to 397.9 million denars, while sales abroad jumped 37% to 222.7 million denars.

The company's operating expenses were 9% higher on the year at 596.9 million denars in the review period.

Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, DS Smith is present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
