SKOPJE (North Macedonia), October 18 (SeeNews) – The business confidence indicator of North Macedonia's construction sector rose by 1.2 percentage points year-on-year in the third quarter of 2019, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the indicator was 0.3% higher, Makstat said in a statement.
The expectations for orders in the July-September period are more favourable compared to the previous quarter, while the number of employees is expected to slightly decrease in the next quarter, the statement reads.
Managers of the business entities in the construction sector expect selling prices to decrease in the next period.
“The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the improvement of the current construction activity were: no demand with 19.5%, increased material expenditures with 18.7%, shortage of competent staff with 17.7% and increased labour expenditures with 13.6%,” Makstat said.
