March 29 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based pharmaceuticals producer Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said it has put into operation 19.4 million euro ($20.9 million) facilities for the production of solid form drugs, with expectations to double its tablet production capacities.
The 6,200 sq m technical and technological infrastructure encompasses both production and technical facilities, Alkaloid said in a press release earlier this week.
The new facilities will produce tablets, filmcoated tablets, capsules, and double-layered tablets.
The company's shares traded at an average price of 20,395 denars ($357.4/331.6 euro) on the Skopje bourse on Thursday.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in North Macedonia and 19 subsidiaries and two representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, the U.S. and the UK.
