November 1 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said that its consolidated net profit grew by an annual 26% to 738.7 million denars ($13.4 million/12.0 million euro) in the January-September period of 2019.
Alkaloid's sales revenue rose 15% year-on-year to 8.27 billion denars in the first nine months of the year, backed by higher exports, Alkaloid said in an interim financial statement earlier this week.
Sales abroad increased 19% to 5.40 billion denars, while domestic sales added 7% to 2.87 billion denars.
Cost of goods sold was 13% higher on the year at 4.53 billion denars in the review period.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in Macedonia, as well as 16 subsidiaries and three representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, and the US.
Alkaloid employs 1,580 people in Macedonia and 420 people in its subsidiaries outside the country.
