N. Macedonian banks' end-Jan loan portfolio up 5.7% y/y

February 21 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of North Macedonia's commercial banks rose 5.7% year-on-year to 443.9 billion denars ($7.8 billion/7.2 billion euro) at the end of January, the central bank said on Wednesday.

Month-on-month, the banks' loan portfolio was 0.2% lower at the end of January, the central bank said in a statement.

Loans to the corporate sector grew 4.3% on the year, reaching 211.4 billion denars at the end of January, while loans to households totalled 230 billion denars, up 6.9%.
