SOFIX's best performers were hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH], which leapt 6.14% to 12.10 levs, and First Investment Bank, or Fibank, [BUL:FIB], which added 4.32% to 2.90 levs.

The two companies also spurred on the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The biggest gain in the BGBX40, however, was posted by diversified group Synergon Holding [BUL:SNRG], which surged 10.83% to 1.33 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 index advanced by 0.92% to 165.76 points, while the BGTR30 grew by 0.60% to 820.87 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, rose by 0.06% to 190.59 points following a 0.29% climb in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.40 levs.

In contrast, the BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, shed 0.45% to 95.99 points. The index was held back by cargo drone developer Dronamics' special purpose vehicle Dronamics Capital [BUL:DRON], which fell by 3.20% to 2.42 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse increased to 5.15 million levs ($2.81 million/2.63 million euro) on Wednesday from 4.18 million levs a day earlier.

Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:VAM] generated the day's highest turnover, at some 1.4 million levs, after 299,000 shares changed hands. The stock closed flat at 4.68 levs.
