Most Sofia stock indices rise, turnover grows on Smart Organic trades

June 3 (SeeNews) - Four of the five indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) advanced on Monday, with the blue-chip SOFIX inching up 0.01% to 865.44 points, bourse data showed.

The benchmark index was buoyed by a 2.63% rise in energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] to 1.56 levs and a 2.10% gain in diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] to 0.73 levs.

The two companies also propelled the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The index climbed 0.09% to 853.14 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, went up 0.17% to 190.69 points as Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] added 1.61% to 3.18 levs.

The BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, grew by 0.97% to 98.12 points on the back of a 7.84% jump in venture capital firm Webit Investment Network [BUL:WIN] to 0.825 levs.

In comparison, the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, shed 0.65% to 170.91 points. It was dragged down by diversified group Synergon Holding [BUL:SNRG], which dropped 9.09% to 1.10 levs, and fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET], which sank 8.70% to 0.84 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse leapt to some 5.63 million levs ($3.12 million/2.88 million euro) on Monday from 3.62 million levs on Friday.

The majority of the day's turnover, or some 5.08 million levs, was generated by organic foods producer and distributor Smart Organic [BUL:SO] after 251,373 shares traded. The stock closed 1.94% lower at 20.20 levs.
