Montenegro’s Two Airports See 8.0% Rise in Passenger Numbers in 2008 to 1.1 Mln

PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 24 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Montenegro’s two international airports is expected to rise by 8.0% this year to 1.1 million, the Montenegrin airport operator, Aerodromi Crne Gore, said.

The operator also expects to service a total of 10,000 aircraft by the end of the year, up 12% on the year.

On October 23 Aerodromi Crne Gore handled the one-millionth passenger for 2008, while last year the one-millionth passenger was handled on December 12, the operator said in a statement on Thursday.

The tiny Adriatic state of some 620,000 people has one airport in the capital Podgorica and a smaller one near Montenegro's Adriatic resort of Tivat.
