November 29 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s trade gap widened by 48% to 3.52 billion euro ($3.65 billion) in the ten months through October, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports rose by 70% year-on-year to 576.6 million euro in the January-October period, while imports went up 44% to 2.95 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations were Serbia, which attracted exports worth 115.3 million euro in the review period, Switzerland with 105.3 million euro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 74.7 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly in Serbia, which accounted for 506.9 million euro worth of imports, China with 270.1 million euro, and Greece with 247.4 million euro.
Montenegro's trade deficit expanded by 18.9% to 2.067 billion euro last year.
