Exports fell by 49.9% year-on-year to 44 million euro in January, while imports went up 1% to 216.8 million euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations were the Czech Republic, which attracted exports worth 12.4 million euro, Serbia with 12.3 million euro, and Kosovo with 2.5 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly in Serbia, which accounted for 34.1 million euro worth of imports, Germany with 24 million euro, and China with 23.9 million euro.
In 2023, Montenegro’s trade gap widened by 10% to 3.13 billion euro.
