Montenegro’s Sunrise Europe seeks EIA for 225 MW solar plant

February 27 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it has received a request from local company Sunrise Europe to conduct an environmental impact assessment (EIA) of a project for the construction of a 225 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant.

The power plant, to be built in the central municipality of Savnik, will span 275.1 hectares, according to project documents published on EPA's website last week.

The PV plant is expected to produce 284,154 MWh of electricity in its first year of operation.

According to the Montenegrin business registry, Sunrise Europe is owned by private individuals Radoica Vukovic with a 90% stake, Milos Komnenic, with 8%, and Nemanja Radovic with 2%. The company was established in November 2022.
