Montenegro’s parl OKs 2023 budget revision with 3.4%/GDP gap

November 28 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s parliament said it has approved a revision of the 2023 budget, lowering the expected deficit to 216.3 million euro ($236.9 million), equivalent to 3.4% of gross domestic product (GDP), it said.

The original 2023 budget projected a deficit equivalent to 5.9% of GDP.

Total revenue is expected to come in at 2.42 billion euro, compared to the original target of 2.15 billion euro. Expenditures were revised up by 5.2% to 2.64 billion euro.

As part of the revision, additional funding will be provided to subsidise the employment of persons with disabilities.

In 2022, the country's budget was in deficit of 275 million euro, equivalent to 5.1% of GDP.
