November 16 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro grew to 559.3 million euro ($582.8 million) in the first eight months of 2022, from 314.1 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 758.2 million euro in the eight months through August, up 44.6% year-on-year, while FDI outflow fell to 198.9 million euro from 210.3 million euro, the central bank said in a monthly report last week.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went up to 129.2 million euro in the eight months through August, from 102.2 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate rose to 281.6 million euro, from 153.2 million euro in January-August 2021.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending increased to 290.4 million euro in the first eight months of 2022 from 214.4 million euro in the like period of 2021.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 552 million euro in 2021, from 467.5 million euro in the previous year.
