Montenegro’s EPCG puts into operation 2.6 mln euro transformer station in Kotor

PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 3 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) said on Wednesday it has put into operation a 2.6 million euro ($3.4 million) transformer station in the coastal city of Kotor as part of the modernization of the country's power grid.

The 35/10 kilovolt Skaljari transformer station is the first of five such facilities that will be put into operation by the end of 2012 at a combined cost of 10 million euro, EPCG said in a statement.

As much as 25 million euro from the 35 million euro that will be invested this year in the country’s energy system are allocated for the development of the power distribution network, EPCG executive director Enrico Malerba said.
