Montenegro's end-September mobile subscribers up 4.9% y/y

PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 29 (SeeNews) – The number of mobile phone subscribers in Montenegro rose 4.93% year-on-year to 1,294,942 at the end of September, according to data from the national telecommunications regulator, EKIP.

The mobile penetration rate in Montenegro increased to 208.85% in September from 207.02% at the end of August, when the number of subscribers was 1,283,613, figures posted on the EKIP website show.

Montenegro, with a population of around 680,000, has three mobile operators - Telenor, Crnogorski Telekom and M:tel. M:tel had a 34.94% share of the overall number of subscribers at the end of September, followed by Telenor with 34.66% and Crnogorski Telekom with 30.4%.

The share of postpaid subscribers was 46.43% at the end of September.
